It's time for a new political party. If you don't think so, read this: How Bad is He? , Sydney Blumenthal's recounting of the Bush administration's incompetence, radicalism, and abuse of the American political system. Couple that with this: Parties Battle over New Voter ID Laws, the fight to require voter id's and proof of citizenship where the GOP has been advising state lobbyists on what laws to push for (what, is there a rush from non-citizens to hit the polls during American elections? Oh, the horror!). My question: where has the opposition been? Why has it been sleeping while the social fascists have been busy co-opting our country? The Democrats have been too spineless to fight back. The moderates, I guess, have been too busy watching their home values rise and taking out equity loans to remodel their kitchens Meanwhile, Bush is turning the federal government into one big, imperialistic, freedom-killing machine.
One small hope: even my Southern relatives who voted for Bush in two elections hate him now.
BTW, I tend to lean LIbertarian. (In the words of John Dean, that makes me a liberal now). I go that way because there is no current party clothing that "fits." So, I think we need a new one. It's apparent that a two-party system is no longer strong enough to preserve our Constitution.
